Meet Dr. Renee

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Renee has been around chiropractic most of her life. As an infant, she had chronic ear infections and nothing seemed to help until she got under regular chiropractic care, at which point her mother would refer to her as "the perfect baby". A pretty nice compliment from someone who had five babies. Throughout her childhood and into high school the whole family would go for regular adjustments. She wouldn't realize until much later the foundation that was being laid.

More about Dr. Renee

Dr. Renee graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science. Her focus at the time was audiology but she didn't feel fully aligned with it, and knowing it would require graduate school (aka: lots of time and money), she chose to fly north for the next few years and live life outside of academia for a while. She spent a few years in Wisconsin before moving back to Illinois and during that time she was working in the service industry. One busy Saturday night while bartending, she fell hard on the concrete floor causing a big shift in her pelvis and low back. Revert to childhood conditioning which (thankfully) was, "I hurt my body, I need to see the chiropractor". After reconnecting with chiropractic and remembering how much better she could feel, she had a new appreciation for something that seemed trivial as a child.

She knew that the service industry was definitely not her passion. She knew she needed more but had no idea what more was. Feeling defeated and searching for hope she decided to "randomly" apply to chiropractic school in February of 2018 and told herself that if she got in, it was a sign from the Universe that she was meant to do this. Six months later she moved to Marietta, GA to begin working on her chiropractic degree and knew without a doubt it was the right decision.

During chiropractic school she trained in a variety of techniques including Diversified, Bio-Geometric Integration, Torque Release Technique, SOT, Thompson Drop and extremity adjusting. In line with the philosophy of "less is more", Dr. Renee's passion lies with light-touch techniques and seeing how big a shift can be made with the least amount of force. Dr. Renee graduated from Life University in June of 2022 and moved to Raleigh just two days after graduation. Having "randomly" shadowed at Verve the previous year as a student, she was elated to find that they were hiring and knew it would be the perfect fit. She no longer believes things happen randomly or by coincidence, she believes they happen divinely on purpose and in perfect time.

Since joining the Verve team her knowledge of pediatric chiropractic has expanded greatly. She enjoys seeing all kinds of patients and is excited to continue integrating into this beautiful community. Dr. Renee loves using breath, sound and movement to shift energy and bring ease to the nervous system and often incorporates one if not all of these elements into her adjustments. She believes that true and lasting health comes from the balance of our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical beings.

In her free time, Dr. Renee loves spending time in nature, singing, playing the guitar or piano, practicing yoga and breathwork, and reading the endless stack of health, wellness, and self-development books she's acquired throughout her own healing journey.
